The Master Review

 

Viewing the film as a whole, "The Master" doesn't really contain the three act structure. No clear goal is set nor is there any true dilemma. But what's so enticing about this film is the way is goes about telling it's story. On the surface it's about whether or not Dodd's philosophy is religion or cult based but digging deeper will bring about elements of humanism, fear, and the past and future. Some might find the lack of structure a problem but that's what was so beautiful. Complex elements thrown out for the audience to explore mixed in with raw performances.
